Okay, grab your favorite mug. We need to talk about Ice Age: Collision Course. You know, the one where Scrat literally messes with the cosmos? Again.

It’s a glorious, chaotic mess of a movie. And let’s be honest, half the fun is the voice cast. They’re basically a reunion of your comedy heroes.

The Herd: Our Fuzzy, Familiar Favorites

Let’s start with the big guy. Ray Romano is back as Manny. He’s still the woolly mammoth dad who panics about everything. Ray’s voice is just pure “worried suburban dad” energy, and it’s perfect.

Then there’s John Leguizamo as Sid. I mean, can you even imagine this franchise without him? He gives Sid that high-pitched, nasally, eternally-optimistic loser vibe. No one else could make a sloth this loveable.

Denis Leary is Diego. He’s the cool, grouchy saber-toothed tiger with a heart of gold. Denis just snarls his lines with that signature Boston edge. It makes Diego sound like he’s always about to roast someone.

Queen Latifah voices Ellie, Manny’s wife. She brings this warm, grounded, “mom knows best” energy. She’s the glue holding Manny’s panic attacks together, honestly.

The New Blood (And The Eternal Scrat)

Of course, we can’t ignore Chris Wedge. He’s the voice of Scrat. He doesn’t say actual words, just squeaks and screams. But those sounds are iconic. He elevates a squirrel’s existential crisis into high art.

This movie introduces Simon Pegg as Buck. Buck is the one-eyed, slightly insane weasel from the third movie. Simon Pegg plays him like he’s on a permanent caffeine high. His frantic energy is infectious; he makes every scene feel like a fever dream.

We also meet Brooke, Sid’s love interest. She’s voiced by Jessie J. Yes, that Jessie J. She’s a sweet, slightly ditzy sloth who actually finds Sid charming. It’s a weirdly sweet pairing, like a marshmallow hugging a burnt toast.

Her father is Milton, played by Alan Tudyk. Alan Tudyk is a voice acting legend. He’s in everything! He makes Milton a grumpy, perpetually exhausted elder sloth. He delivers one-liners with deadpan perfection.

The Geotopia Crew: Hippie Herd of the Damned

The main new characters are a herd of “youthful” animals living in a crystal cave called Geotopia. They’re basically eternal teenagers.

Stephanie Beatriz voices Shangri Llama. You might know her as Rosa from Brooklyn Nine-Nine. She plays this zen, mystical llama with a hilariously low, calm voice. It’s the opposite of her Rosa energy, and it’s gold.

Adam DeVine is Julian, a very enthusiastic hyrax. He is pure, unfiltered optimism. Adam’s voice cracks with excitement in every line. He sounds like a golden retriever who just discovered coffee.

Neil deGrasse Tyson pops in as Neil deBuck Weasel. Yes, that’s the literal name. He plays a weasel scientist explaining the asteroid physics. It’s a brilliant, self-aware cameo. Neil deGrasse Tyson explaining existential doom to a weasel. What a time to be alive.

Why This Cast Works (And Why You Should Care)

Look, the plot of Collision Course is bonkers. It involves a giant magnetic asteroid and a flying saucer made of ice. But the cast sells it.

They bring genuine comedy chops. Ray, Denis, and John have the chemistry of a old band that tours together. They bicker, they care, they roast each other. It feels real.

The new additions shake things up. Simon Pegg’s Buck is a whirlwind of crazy plans. Jessie J’s Brooke is a breath of fresh, slightly naive air. And Alan Tudyk’s Milton is just there to judge everyone’s life choices.

You watch this movie for the voices. You laugh because Ray Romano sounds like your dad complaining about the thermostat. You cackle when Denis Leary growls about something stupid Sid did.

And you lose it when Neil deGrasse Tyson, as a literal weasel, explains gravity. It’s stupid. It’s brilliant. It’s Ice Age.

So next time you’re scrolling for a comfort movie, throw this on. Just listen to the cast. They’re a bunch of pros having the time of their lives. And we get to eavesdrop. Lucky us.
